The Xbox Series X logo was spotted in a trademark application. While we can't say much about the new console, what we can say for sure is that it is more interesting than the PS5 logo.

Redditor LemonMintHookah found it on the r/XboxSeriesX subreddit trademark tracker Justia Trademarks, where the logo is a vertical "Series" with a larger "X" missing part of the line for style. It was created by Microsoft on April 20, leaving little doubt that this is the official logo for the new console.

We saw the Xbox Series X console itself in a surprise reveal at the Game Awards 2019 late last year. Meanwhile, we saw the PS5 logo in a CES teaser in January, but we have yet to see an official look at the console, with the exception of the DualSense controller that Sony revealed to the world.

Continuing a successful brand identity is a good idea, but the PS5 logo is the PS4 logo itself except the numbers have been swapped; the Xbox Series X logo is more indicative of the generational changes underway.

The separation of "Series" and "X" can be seen as a hint to other next-generation Xbox variations with different letters. One such variant would be the Xbox Series S, aka Project Lockheart, which is rumored to be the entry-level model for the new generation Xbox. Rumors suggest that although the specs are lower, the price will be much lower, making it an attractive option for many gamers.

There is still no definitive news on the launch of the Xbox Series X or PS5. However, recent rumors suggest that the big news will come in May, and both models are expected to hit store shelves in November. As for the price, it is expected to be slightly higher than the PS5,
