Set your clocks right, PlayStation fans. Sony is expected to hold an official PS5 unveiling event on June 4, where the company is expected to show off the console's design and exclusive games.

At least that's what gaming journalist Jeffery Grubb was asked at Restera when he expects the PS5 unveiling event to take place. Grubb's answer was, "We are currently planning for June 4."

Grubb did not say how he learned of the event at which Sony is expected to unveil the PS5, nor did he mention any sources of information. However, GamesRadar noted that Mr. Grubb leaked the exact dates of the recent Nintendo Direct, which is likely based on solid information rather than broad speculation.

The June 4 event coincides with Offical PlayStation Magazine's June 2 release of a news issue packed with PS5 details, including exclusive games. Since the magazine has closer ties to Sony's PlayStation division, it may reveal such details two days earlier.

If Grubb's information is accurate, Sony's big PS5 announcement will likely come after Microsoft's Xbox Series X showcase, scheduled for May. This could work to Sony's advantage, and they can learn from Microsoft's presentation debacle.

As it stands, Sony and Microsoft seem to be taking different approaches with their next generation consoles, with the Xbox Series X going for pure performance power and the PS5 defending the high performance of SDD to gain a competitive advantage.

We've already seen the PS5's unique DualSense controller, but Sony hasn't revealed anything about the next-generation console's design; we may finally get a glimpse of what the PS5 will actually look like come June.

We can also expect to see a number of PS5 exclusive titles and how "Cyberpunk 2077" and "The Last of Us 2" will be enhanced over the PS4 version.

With E3 2020 and its surrounding events canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the traditional rollout of new games and hardware was somewhat watered down. But thanks to the rise of streaming, we can watch major launches from the comfort of our homes. It remains to be seen whether Sony will simply showcase the PS5 and its launch tile video, or whether it will be a full-fledged showcase, but we suspect it will ultimately be the latter.
