EA Play Live Summary: Skate 4, Star Wars, FIFA, Madden and more

EA Play Live airs on 6/18 at 7pm ET. But if you miss it, you don't have to worry. Tom's guide covers the entire event as it happened and you can read our real-time blog below.

During the presentation, EA revealed several new indie games. We also delved deeper into the sneak peek of Apex Legends Season 5's new mode, Lost Treasures: A new mode, and both single-player and multiplayer modes in Star Wars: Squadrons.

EA didn't reveal much about the next generation project, but there was a surprise announcement at the end. As the year progresses, we'll probably hear more about these games, so stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. For the full story, read below.

7:55PM: This is the end of EA Play Live. We had a brief glimpse of what some studios were working on for the next generation title, but we didn't know the name or release date. BioWare is certainly working on something, and obviously this something will have a very large tree in it.

And we ended things with the announcement of a brand new skating game. We don't have any data on it yet, but the developers were excited to share. They said the fans "commented the game on the existence," so EA really seems to be listening to fan requests - if they are persistent enough.

Stay tuned for additional, smaller game shows throughout the summer so that's it for now. We will cover them all with Tom's guide.

7:50 p.m.: EA Sports will release both FIFA21 and Madden21. Lamar Jackson will be the cover athlete for Madden around this time. Otherwise, it looks like last year's model, albeit with an updated team roster.

7:45 p.m.: The gameplay release shows what to expect from both single-player and multiplayer modes in Star Wars: Squadrons. In single player mode, you play as both a new republic and an empire in the original story. You watch the game from the ship's cockpit and your system will give you important feedback in real time.

You can play on eight different ships, as well as customize each ship with both cosmetics and items that enhance the gameplay.

There are 2 multiplayer modes in this game: 1 is called Dogfight mode, and 5 teams are square with each other. But the more interesting mode is the battle of the fleet, where 5 players will play against small ships, then 2 medium-sized ships, and then the flagship of a large arena.

7:40 p.m.: Star Wars: Squadron took center stage, kicking things off with a rerun of its first trailer. In case you haven't seen it before, we've posted it below. The match will take place on 10/2.

Ian Frazier, creative director at Motive Studios, took the time to discuss his inspiration behind making the Star Wars dogfighting game. Many people on the team are hardcore Star Wars fans, especially the imaginative ships and pilots of the film.

The game will also be highly skill-based, requiring power management and Ace pilot tricks to succeed.

Narrative, you create two different pilots: one from the new Republic, one from the Empire. With them you will explore the original story that takes place immediately after the return of the Jedi. You can also play in a multiplayer mode that supports cross-play. Everything in the game will also be playable in VR.

Next is the release of the gameplay Star Wars: Squadron, which will be discussed later.

7:30 p.m.: Zoink Games is working on Lost in Random: A game about a girl lost in a strange world, with a sensuous six-sided dice as a companion. It's a creepy Gothic art style 3D action/adventure game, but it won't be released until 2021.

We also saw Rocket Arena from Final Strike Games: A colorful multiplayer shooter in which all weapons are rocket launchers. It looks like a fast-paced, chaotic hero shooter with at least partially destructible maps. Each team supports 3 players, so it's a bit smaller than some of the titles currently on the market. The match will take place on 7/14 and its first competitive season will begin on 7/22.

7:25 p.m.: A brief video showed off EA original titles such as Way Out and Unlabeled. Hazelight Studios was the first studio to be in the spotlight. Josef Fare discussed the difference between making a feature film and a video game. He finds it much harder to create video games.

His next game is called It Takes Two and it's a cooperative platformer where you play as two animated dolls. It's supposed to be an emotional experience that marries "narrative and mechanics.""It will come out in 2021.

7:20 p.m.: EA announced that a number of games will be available on Steam, including Titanfall2 and Dead Space3. However, they have already received rave reviews from critics and fans with a special focus on Command & Conquer Remastered, which has come out for a little while.

7 new games will also move to the switch, including Burnout Paradise, which will be available tomorrow. Need for Speed: Heat is a separate switch port, which we will discuss in detail later.

7:16 p.m.: EA showed a video about people playing The Sims, showing how the game is welcomed by LGBT, black and disabled players. Many of them described the Sims as an environment free from hatred and judgment.

As far as the game's announcement is concerned, The Sims4 is now available on Steam.

7:12 p.m.: Respawn Entertainment kicked things off with information about "Apex Legends: Season5: Fortune's Favor." A new collection event called Lost Treasures introduces a bunch of new items that should make the experience a little more unpredictable. (One of the items you can get is a small golden statue that looks attractive. The update will be released on 6/23.

Lost Treasures also include game types that fans like (snipers and shotguns, with mobile Respawn points). Apex Legends will be on Steam this fall, with crossplay and Nintendo Switch enabled. There aren't many details yet, but crossplay works on all consoles and platforms, including PS4 and Xbox One.

7:05 p.m.: EA Play Live delivers a message thanking first responders and health professionals and a message that says, "Black lives matter."The rest of the presentation will focus on the game, but these things are worth repeating.

7:00 p.m.: The main event still seems to be a few minutes away. We have, however, a very clean loading screen.

6:30 p.m.: Welcome to EA Play's live blog Tom's Guide. Here are all the announcements from EA Play Live. For those who want to watch the action as it happens, we embed the video stream below. You can also watch the event on a variety of platforms by checking out the stories on how to watch EA Play Live2020.

Typically, EA will host big events at e3, unveil a variety of new games, and have guests hands-on with a lot of people at big luxury events. However, due to public health concerns, E3 2020 has been cancelled and companies are hosting live streams instead. Over the past 1 month, we've heard from Sony, Microsoft and various small businesses through the PC Gaming Show and the Future Games Show. Now, EA will throw a hat in the ring, so you can see what major publishers are planning, not to mention pc, PS4, Xbox One, and the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X.

First Thing: If you're already on this page, you can see the EA live stream embedded just below:

Otherwise you can see it directly on the EA website, or on its Twitch channel. As far as we know, there is no difference between the 3 feeds, so whichever is the most convenient one is probably the way to go.

There are some good guesses to start with as to what we'll see in EA Play Live2020, but the company will probably surprise us.

First, there is Star Wars: Squadron, a space shooter based on the venerable Space Fantasy franchise. Expect intense air combat, just like nostalgic games like X-Wing, Rogue Squadron, and Starfighter. EA hasn't revealed much about Star Wars: Squadrons yet, but aside from the fact that it's working, we expect a more detailed release on EA Play Live. You might be delving deeper into the story, gameplay, or both.

EA is also an old standard for sports games, especially both types of football. We know that EA will not only show off the gameplay of FIFA21 for the first time, but also reveal the athlete for its cover. Similarly, EA Play Live provides more information about Madden21 for those who prefer American football. Until now, EA has not made it clear exactly how the cross-generation upgrade will work for those who purchase Madden4 on a Ps21 or Xbox One and upgrade to a PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Fans are also very keen to guess about Mass Effects and Dragon Age, two EA-owned series that we haven't heard much in the past few years, rumors suggest a remastered Mass Effects trilogy for current or next generation systems- but we've heard those rumors for years now. So we will believe it when we see it.

It's a high time to learn more about the next installment of BioWare's beloved RPG franchise, as Dragon Age 4 News already knows that this game is being completed with a teaser trailer that debuted in 2018, and it's time to get to know the sport. Some of the action game news

will refresh this page when the event occurs, so please update every few minutes for the latest news.
