Amazon's new Fire HD8 costs justわ59, but you need to act quickly

The Amazon Fire HD 8 is our favorite budget tablet; the new 2020 model, though more expensive at $89.99, has better battery life and adds USB-C connectivity. However, Amazon has slashed the price of its mid-range tablets for the first time.

Currently, the Amazon Fire HD 8 sells for $59.99. This is a $30 discount and the best Amazon sale we have seen. It is also the first deal on Amazon's new 2020 tablet.

If you're not familiar with Amazon's new tablet, it features an 8-inch 1280 x 800 pixel touchscreen, 2GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It also has a 2MP camera on the front and a 1MP camera on the back.

In our review of the Amazon Fire HD 8, we loved the tablet's spectacular battery life, which lasted 13 hours and 50 minutes. We also loved the fact that it finally supports USB-C connectivity, so you can charge it with the same cable you use for your laptop.

A few things to note: Amazon charges $15 for the ad-free version of the tablet. Also, the Fire HD 8 does not support the Google Play store. Instead, it is limited to apps from Amazon's store, but thankfully all popular apps like Spotify and TikTok are available. Those few complaints aside, this is the best budget tablet you can get. It may also be the last sale until Amazon Prime Day.
