OnePlus will soon launch its first wireless earbuds, and it appears to be following in Apple's footsteps when it comes to design.

The OnePlus earbuds, purportedly called Pods, are not as convincing as the best fake AirPods, but they sure look similar; rendered images of the Pods reveal stems attached to egg-shaped buds, both white and black; Twitter user Max J (via 9to5Google)'s promotional teaser indicates that the new imitations will appear in July.

Max J shared the alleged marketing material back in May, but we haven't heard much since; OnePlus has a reputation for making admirable headphones to pair with smartphones like the OnePlus 8 Pro, so we're not sure if its first pair of We've been eagerly awaiting to see what true wireless has to offer.

Today, Max J posted another image of the Pods in a black variant that looks more like the OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 than the AirPods that leaked back in May. Also visible is the appearance of a charging case with a curved, compact form.

9to5Google said Max J's information about the Pods may not be as accurate as previous leaks. Still, there is enough evidence to believe that OnePlus is trying to bring wireless earbuds to market to compete with the AirPods.

If OnePlus can offer AirPods-level sound quality at a lower price, Apple's audio department might have reason to worry. At least until the AirPods Studio or AirPods 3 are released; we still don't know for sure about the specs of the OnePlus Pods or Apple's planned headphone products.

It is possible that OnePlus plans to debut the Pods, or whatever the name of the wireless earbuds are, tomorrow along with the mid-range OnePlus Nord smartphone. If so, the previous release date information for the Max J may be in July like the OnePlus Nord.

We could know within 24 hours if these Pods leaks are real and if the new buds are poised to become the ultimate OnePlus accessory.
