Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 release date just leaked — and it's almost here

Leaked information on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has been heating up in recent weeks, and now we have an estimated debut date for the next-generation wearable.

Press images of the Galaxy Watch 3 released online last week show the number "22" and the day of the week "Wed" on the watch face; as SamMobile points out, July 22 falls on a Wednesday at the end of the month, consistent with previous rumors that the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Watch coincides with earlier rumors of a July launch.

While this speculation sounds coy, July 22 falls just before the Samsung Unpacked virtual event scheduled for August 5. You may recall that the company released the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 a few days before the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 keynote last August.

Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that the Galaxy Watch 3 will appear before the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 lineup and the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. Whether that will take place on July 22 or somewhere during the week could be confirmed as the date approaches.

According to the leaks we have seen, the Galaxy Watch 3 will be offered in Bluetooth and LTE variants, and in 41mm and 45mm case sizes. Each model will feature the infamous rotating bezel, Gorilla Glass DX display, 5ATM grade water resistance, military-grade durability, and GPS.

Leaker Evan Blass has suggested that the Galaxy Watch 3 will start at $400 and go to $600. This could match the expected price point of the Apple Watch 6, and for reference, the entry-level Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $399.

If the Galaxy Watch 3 is indeed slated to launch within the next few weeks, we should know more about the Galaxy Watch 3 soon. It could appear along with Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live, wireless earbuds in the shape of beans.
