Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 can be launched along with the new Galaxy Watch Fit

[The Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy Tab S7 are all expected to be announced. But according to new FCC filings, Samsung may have something else up its sleeve.

First spotted by The Verge, the listing doesn't give very much other than the model number: SM-R220. However, the diagram above shows a wearable that closely resembles the back of the Galaxy Fit.

For those who don't know, the Galaxy Fit is Samsung's entry-level fitness tracker, comparable to basic step trackers made by Fitbit, Xiaomi, and Honor. Our reviewer rather liked it, noting that it offers "solid fitness tracking in a lightweight, comfortable package."

As such, it was something of a downgrade from the Galaxy Fit 2, but the sacrifice certainly made it more affordable. The Galaxy Fit sold for $100, and the even more stripped-down Galaxy Fit E was $35.

So what does the new Galaxy Fit offer? In this diagram it appears to have a heart rate sensor, but this is nothing new; GPS would be welcome, but it might push the price up to Galaxy Watch Active levels.

Still, there are extras that can be achieved at minimal cost: the Honor Band 5 for under $40 includes SpO2 measurement, and the $30 Xiaomi Mi Band 5 includes menstrual cycle tracking.

Of course, the photo may not be of the new Galaxy Fit. The $100 price point of the original Galaxy Fit ultimately puts Samsung in a tricky position; you can buy a Fitbit Charge 4 for $150 today, although Honor and Xiaomi's options fall below it by some margin. GPS, VO2Max, Heart Rate Insight, SpO2, and more.

Hopefully, Samsung is planning something along those lines - it certainly could given the FCC filing is anything but specific. While such filings do not indicate an imminent release date (or any release at all), it seems opportune that this list came to light so close to the upcoming Unpacked event.
