Samsung Galaxy Buds are alive with getting noise cancellation to fight AirPods Pro

Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live may be more of a threat to the AirPods Pro than initially expected. New leaked information suggests that Samsung has managed to include an unexpected high-end feature in the tiny, bean-shaped headphones.

That feature is active noise cancellation, which could magically block out the noisy world as you walk down the street for groceries. We learned about this potential feature from a leaked WalkingCat by Twitter user @h0x0d, who posted the short clip embedded below.

The video, which appears to come straight out of Samsung's Unpacked 2020 event on August 5, shows the three colors of Galaxy Buds Live already seen in previous leaks. After one of the rose gold buds floats in the air, the screen displays a very enticing message, "This is the first time I've ever seen a Galaxy Buds Live in a color other than rose gold. Turn on the sound."

This message sounds like the expected message if the Samsung Buds Live can block out ambient noise. If it merely offers passive noise cancellation, it is unlikely that Samsung would advertise its new Buds in this way.

What doesn't make sense about this possible feature is that the leaked information on the Galaxy Buds Live does not show in-ear tips for the headphones. A removable and washable silicone piece is needed to create the seal needed for good active noise cancellation.

So, Samsung, what magic are you preparing for August? We should find out in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for the latest updates when Galaxy Unpacked kicks off on August 5.
