This year's Gamescom Opening Night Live did not take place at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, but it did showcase a variety of new titles for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Some titles had been known for months, while others were unveiled here for the first time.

It would take too long to list all the new information that was uncovered about the three dozen games, but here are a few highlights from the show. If you'd like to watch it all back for yourself, you can check out the recording on YouTube. Also, if you're eagerly awaiting more news from Gamescom, you can join the online convention, which runs from now until August 30.

Fans have been waiting a long time for Dragon Age 4, as "Dragon Age: Inquisition" was released in 2014; at Gamescom, BioWare showed off a "behind the scenes development" video and gave us a glimpse into how Dragon Age 4 is progressing. While we didn't get specific gameplay or plot details, we did get to see some gorgeous environmental renderings and hear a few voice actors in action. The video is a reminder that Dragon Age 4 is in the works, but the game is not yet finished. We will have to wait at least another year.

"Fall Guys" suddenly appeared and became one of the leading multiplayer games of the summer of 2020. This "party royale" game has a second season of content, this time with a medieval sword and sorcery theme. Not only will players have to avoid drawbridges and siege towers, but they will also be able to unlock knightly gear such as armor and wizard's robes.Fall Guys: Season 2 has no release date yet, but it will be here sooner rather than later. If you're going to be booting up the game and playing against them every day anyway, you'll probably want to see it when it's released.

"Ratchet & Clank" was mentioned as the star of the opening night live stream at Gamescom: "Rift Apart" is Insomniac's upcoming action/platform game and it did not disappoint. Since Sony announced "Rift Apart" in June, the new "Ratchet & Clank" game has been one of the most representative examples of the PS5's capabilities, from its gorgeous graphics to its fast loading speed. In the gameplay demo, we saw Ratchet and Clank face off against recurring antagonist Dr. Nefarious and dive through a series of portals into a half dozen fully rendered worlds chock full of enemies and objects. The game is expected to appear within the PS5 launch window, but may not appear with the console itself.

World of Warcraft has been around for nearly 16 years, and its next expansion proves that there is still new territory for this game. in World of Warcraft, players will explore the Shadowlands: in the Shadowlands, players will explore the Shadowlands, which is essentially the afterlife of Azeroth. Depending on the type of life they lead, they will belong to one of four factions vying for control of this realm: in Warcraft III, Arthas Menethil seems to have blurred the line between life and death with his soul-stealing sword, Frostmourne. Blizzard will be releasing a series of four animated shorts that will set the stage for the game, the first of which was unveiled last night at gamescom. The game itself will be released on October 27.
