The Apple Watch6 leak reveals that it could be launched tomorrow, but there's a catch

Apple will reportedly do something on September 8, possibly announcing the Apple Watch 6 and iPad Air 4.

Jon Prosser, a regular leaker of reliable Apple information, believes that Apple will issue a press release on Tuesday at 9 am BST (2 pm PT, 6 am PT). And based on past leaks, Prosser believes that the Apple Watch 6 and the new iPad will be announced.

However, other tipsters believe that Apple will simply announce when it plans to hold a virtual showcase for the iPhone 12. iPhone 12 is increasingly being rumored to be announced in September, with rumors claiming that it will be delayed to an October release.

This means that there is a gap in the calendar for when Apple typically releases a new flagship phone series. Other leaks suggest that the Apple Watch 6 and a new standard iPad or 4th generation iPad Air could fill this gap.

Usually Apple announces a new Apple Watch at the same time as a new iPhone, given that the two devices will be used together. However, the disruption that the coronavirus outbreak has caused to Apple's product development and supply chain may have changed Apple's plans. As a result, Apple will have to stagger the release of its products.

The Apple Watch 6 is expected to include a series of new features, including improved health and wellness tracking, including the ability to detect signs of stress, and the elimination of the Digital Crown in favor of an optical sensor. It is therefore a bit disconcerting to see such a device simply announced in a press release. Perhaps that is why another technology leaker predicts that the Apple Watch 6 will appear in October.

The same could be said for the iPad Air 4, which will be similar in design to the iPad Pro 2020, with updated specs and Magic Keyboard support. However, since Apple is putting the non-professional iPad on the back burner, it is more plausible to reveal it in a simple product announcement press release.

We have less than 24 hours to find out if Prosser's leak is correct or if the leaks of other technical informants will bear fruit. Either way, before fall comes to a close, we expect many new Apple devices to be reviewed to see if they are worthy of the hype.
