When the OnePlus 8T debuts on October 14, OnePlus' new phone may bring some company. And it comes directly from the handset maker itself.

OnePlus took to Twitter with a simple teaser that might get potential buyers' blood pumping - a set of new earphones to go along with the OnePlus 8T. The audio product could be an even cheaper version of the OnePlus Buds True Wireless earbuds released earlier this year.

"A whole new world of sound," a brief tweet reads. Coming soon." Other than a monochromatic image of a silicone ear-tip up close, there is no name or other piece of information. A link in the tweet leads to OnePlus' official launch event website, which teases the upcoming 8T phone. In other words, whatever product OnePlus is referring to will probably appear at the same October 14 event.

If the rumors currently swirling around the mystery audio product are to be believed, these could be the "OnePlus Buds Z". These new earbuds are rumored to be a less expensive option than the current OnePlus Buds.

Images of silicone in-ear tips in a OnePlus tweet indicate that the new earbuds may have a significantly different design than the previous model. It is very likely that these are intended to be worn inside the ear, rather than outside the ear canal like the current OnePlus Buds. Other than that, it is not really clear what other changes might be made. However, it is very likely that the new pair will be yet another true wireless option.

All should become clear once the OnePlus 8T is officially announced. We expect the OnePlus 8T to come with Android 11 before all other Android models (except the Pixel line) and will be available on only one model. Previously, OnePlus confirmed that there will be no OnePlus 8T Pro; OnePlus also plans to debut fast charging with this phone.
