As is often the case with Amazon's Prime Day where the best discounts are applied to their products, this is not just about price, but also about how well the two work together.

For those unfamiliar, Ring Video Doorbell 3 sends a live stream around the door when someone arrives, allowing you to screen visitors and talk to people remotely. This works whether they are at home or 100 miles away.

Typically, this is done with a smartphone, but Echo Show 5 adds a screen to the regular smart speaker experience, automatically pulling video from the front door when someone arrives. No need to look around for your smartphone when your hands are sticky from cooking, instead you can answer the door virtually.

Aside from their compatibility, these two products are solid products in their own right. We have not reviewed this particular model, but it is essentially the same as the Plus version, without the pre-roll feature that lets you see four seconds before someone enters the frame.
