It seems inevitable that every company that makes cell phones will someday shift its focus to smartwatches. Every major company has done so with some sort of high-tech watch, and another is soon to join them.

OnePlus has confirmed that the long-rumored OnePlus Watch is a reality and will be available soon. However, it is not yet clear how soon it will be available.

OnePlus teased the prospect of a OnePlus smartwatch on Twitter, confirming that more are coming to the OnePlus ecosystem with photos of previous attempts to design their own smartwatch.

While we don't know much about OnePlus' previous smartwatch attempts, we do know that they were indeed completed and ready to go. However, the company decided not to go ahead with the launch, fearing that a weaker product would undermine its handset. Now the situation seems to have changed. [It already sells a series of affordable smart TVs in India, as well as a number of audio products such as the newly announced OnePlus Buds Z.

We don't know everything yet, but leaked information has already revealed that OnePlus is about to release a round smartwatch and that the device has already received BIS certification in India. In other words, a release could be imminent, at least in India.

One would think that OnePlus would be going for a global launch, especially if they are giving notice on their main Twitter account. But we don't know, since India has had exclusive OnePlus launches in the past.

As for anything else, it's still a bit of a mystery for the time being. But now that the OnePlus 8T launch is behind us, perhaps we can expect more news about the OnePlus watch. After all, with the OnePlus Nord 10 5G and N100 launch said to be imminent, there could be no better place to launch a smartwatch.
