Apple made a big announcement this year about removing the charger from the iPhone 12 box, but it is possible that when the iPhone 13 ships next year, it will include a MagSafe wireless charger.

Max Weinbach discussed this possibility on Twitter, but he noted that it is only a rumor. We know from previous rumors that Apple has begun discussing plans for next year's iPhone, but nothing has been decided yet.

Whether it is worth the inconvenience to users who do not yet have a USB-C charger is debatable. Nonetheless, the iPhone 12 box contains only a USB-C-Lightning cable.

As Weinbach suggests, this decision may be a plan on Apple's part to make users more familiar with wireless charging in preparation for next year's iPhone, which is said to lack ports. Since Apple has featured MagSafe prominently in the iPhone 12 lineup announcement, the elimination of the Lightning port next year will go more smoothly if users are encouraged to purchase a MagSafe charger or at least become familiar with MagSafe chargers

As for the bundled wireless charger, it is odd that Apple would change its policy and start offering more accessories for free.
