Xbox Series X will hit the PS5 at launch in one major way

With the PS5 and Xbox Series X just a few weeks away from launch, Microsoft's next generation of gaming consoles may have one major advantage when it comes.

As of this writing, only five games have been confirmed to run at the 120 frames per second that the PS5 boasts, as highlighted by so-called Xbox gamer Snoopy on Twitter. The Xbox Series X, on the other hand, has 15. Neither console will have all of these tiles available at launch. However, the Xbox Series X, which will be available on November 10, will have more 120 fps games than the PS5, which will be available on November 12.

The PS5 will have "Dirt 5," "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War," "Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition," "Rainbow Six Siege" and "Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom" as Xbox Series X will include "Halo: The Master Chief Collection," "Gears 5," "Ori and the Will of the Wisps," and "Halo Infinite" multiplayer modes, among others, All of these titles are included.

The latter is particularly interesting given the possibility that Halo Infinite's multiplayer and campaign will be released as separate parts.

Microsoft has touted the backwards compatibility of the Xbox Series X and how its 12 teraflops console will improve the performance and resolution of older games; there will be no new "Halo" title, Halo Infinite has been delayed until 2021, and the " Gears"; the only new "Gears" game is the strategy spin-off "Gears Tactics"; "Fable 4" is coming to the Xbox Series X, but that may not be for a long time.

The PS5 has "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" and "Demon's Souls Remake" as launch games, with exclusive titles like "Gran Turismo 7" and "Horizon Forbidden West" on the horizon. These definitely give Sony's console an advantage in new games, but for older titles and 120fps games, the Xbox Series X is likely to be the winner.

Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X and PS5 sold out so quickly that it may be a little difficult to get your hands on either console when they are released next month. But it is an exciting time for gaming consoles, and they are taking different approaches to both current-gen and net-gen gaming.
