Nvidia RTX3070 will be easier to buy than RTX3080 — here's why

It's safe to say that the launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 was not a good one. But the upcoming GeForce RTX 3070 may be different.

PC Watch via WCCFtech reports that Asian retailers will be supplying "quite a lot" of GeForce RTX 3070 cards when they launch on October 29. It is not clear if this applies to markets outside of Asia, but Nvidia has stated that it will ensure that many RTX 3070 cards will be available at launch.

At $499, the RTX 3070 is priced at the Xbox Series X, but its graphics performance is significantly improved. In fact, it is set to surpass the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, a $999 graphics card that was once the jewel in Nvidia's graphics card lineup. [At this attractive price, the RTX 3070 bridges the gap between mainstream GPUs and high-end gaming PC GPUs; once the RTX 3070 is released, it will sell out quickly, as did the RTX 3080 and the $1,499 GeForce RTX 3090 I expect it to sell out quickly, as did the RTX 3080 and the $1,499 GeForce RTX 3090.

Nvidia delayed the RTX 3070's release from early October to the end of the month to allow Nvidia fans to get more graphics cards. However, we would be surprised if demand was still not very high. [AMD Big Navi and Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards are on the way; the Big Navi, to be announced on October 28, is intended to take on the RTX 3080, while the remaining new RDNA 2-based Radeon cards could take on the RTX 3070. If AMD can undercut Nvidia's cards in terms of price and still offer a high-performance GPU, it could put a real thorn in the side of the RTX 3000 series.

We are only days away from seeing what AMD brings to the graphics card arena. But with the PS5 and Xbox Series X coming in November, Nvidia's new GPUs, and Big Navi, this fall will be an interesting time for gamers everywhere.
