When the OnePlus 9 launches next year, the OnePlus Watch may not launch as expected.

As Max J., aka Max Jambor, a prominent leaker of OnePlus information, writes, the launch of the OnePlus Watch, though still in development, has been postponed indefinitely Jambor, in a post at Voice, attributes the cause to "manufacturing or software development complications" but this is his guess.

Jambor had previously said that the OnePlus Watch would appear in October, which is no longer true, as can be inferred from the fact that it is almost November. However, at the OnePlus 8T launch, there were indications that the Watch will appear.

A OnePlus-branded smartwatch has been rumored for some time, and with BBK Electronics brands like OnePlus peers Oppo and Vivo releasing their own wearables, the possibility is growing ever more likely. However, we do not expect the Oppo Watch to be the same product, as it is believed that the OnePlus Watch will have a round face, whereas the Oppo Watch has a square face.

The smartwatch will fit nicely into OnePlus' rapidly expanding portfolio. In addition to the classic numbered flagship line currently represented by the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 Pro, the OnePlus Nord was announced this year, and earlier this week the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 were announced. Two pairs of OnePlus true wireless earbuds, the OnePlus Buds and the OnePlus Buds Z, were also announced.
