While we have already received a lot of information about Samsung's Galaxy S21 series, we have not received much information about the upcoming Galaxy Buds, which are expected to be released around the same time.

So far we have heard that the "Galaxy Buds Beyond" will be available, but according to documents filed with the FCC, Samsung's next earphones will be called the "Galaxy Buds Pro."

We know the name "Buds Beyond" because of a trademark application in the EU, but the newly released FCC document says otherwise. Since it is unlikely that Samsung will have two sets of Buds, it is likely that these are the same or that "Buds Beyond" was trademarked in anticipation of possible future use. Either way, the FCC document will likely contain the "real" name for Buds, which we expect next month.

The Galaxy Buds Pro apparently leaves little ambiguity as to what these are: the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds Plus, Galaxy Buds Live, and now the Galaxy Buds Pro. According to leaks last week, the Pro earphones will be an upgrade of the traditional Galaxy Buds.

SamMobile reported that while Samsung will keep the active noise cancellation from the Galaxy Buds Live, it will not stick with the bean-shaped design. In fact, it will feature the exact same in-ear design as the Galaxy Buds and Buds Plus, which should improve the sealing and overall quality of ANC. In addition to this, audio and ambient modes will also be improved.

Meanwhile, documents filed with the FCC give us our first look at the charging case for the Buds Pro. Apparently Samsung has ditched the curved case from the Buds and Buds Plus in favor of a square cracked box similar to the one that comes with the Buds Live.

We expect the Galaxy Buds Pro to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series. If the Buds Pro does appear at the same time, it will likely be offered as a pre-order gift.
