Target PS5 Replenishment sold Out — What to Do Now

If you were disappointed by the lack of a PlayStation 5 console under your Christmas tree, it may not be too late to connect Sony's new console to your TV by the end of the year.

Target has a very limited number of PS5 Digital Edition units available. What makes this rush confusing is that you have to buy the console at a specific store and pick it up in person; according to the Spiel Times, which first reported that Target would restock the PS5 from Sunday through Tuesday, some stores were able to get 10 to 15 units, while others had none at all. Some stores will not be able to get them at all.

As of 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday, December 29, all stores we have identified in the New York City area, Raleigh, North Carolina, Atlanta, Omaha, and Orange County are sold out; PS5 inventory is only available on a per-store basis, so checking your local store is Worthwhile.

In addition, on Tuesday, December 29, a video was uploaded on Twitter showing a local Target with both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in its cart, and on Reddit, the Bay Area and Minneapolis area Xbox Series X inventory is being reported in the Bay Area and Minneapolis area. This may be an indication that the system shortages are being resolved now that the holiday shopping season is over and stores are able to meet demand.

As for the regular PS5, apparently it is not included in today's restocking, but as was the case with the PS5 Digital Edition, this inventory situation could change at any time, so keep an eye out.

According to the Spiel Times, reports of restocking have come in from the Midwest region in large numbers, but also from store staff in the West Coast, South Central, and Southeast regions, suggesting that PS5 inventory may be down more extensively than the limited number of Digital Editions would suggest It seems

that with what could be the last PS5 inventory clearance in 2020, what better chance do we have? First, Target restocking often takes place between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. ET, but according to the Spiel Times, past PS5 restockings have lasted two hours, from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. ET.

Of course, you'll need to log in ahead of time, as you'll need to move quickly once you find the inventory. (If you don't already have a Target account, now is the time to log in.) Anecdotally, some Target PS5 buyers have had better luck using the store's app than relying on the website. But if you want to try your luck through a regular browser, this is the PlayStation 5 inventory page, which you can update at will.

Things have been fairly quiet regarding PS5 restocking over the Christmas period, with no new consoles appearing in the usual places. Of course, if the reports are correct and Target is getting additional units, other retailers may follow suit. If you still want a console, it's best to bookmark where you can get a PS5.

If you can't find a PS5 now, don't fret; the best time to buy a PS5 won't come until there are more exclusive games for the platform.
