In today's "not shocking but welcome" news, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs have been added to MSI's gaming PC lineup. This includes the price-conscious RTX 3060 Ti, the powerful RTX 3070, the impressive RTX 3080, and the arguably best-in-class RTX 3090.

These graphics cards are available in MSI's Trident, Infinite, Aeis, and Codex gaming desktop lines, so theoretically there is a 30 series system to match any price point. (As long as the price point is "at least $1,400," anyway.)

This information comes from an MSI press release: Starting today, GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs are available for MSI gaming desktops. These GPUs support high-resolution gaming as well as flashy lighting effects like ray tracing. By including these graphics cards in all four of its desktop product lines, MSI hopes to offer something for both the "money-conscious" power gamer and the more modest, budget-minded fan.

"We had some challenges getting the Ampere 30 series graphics cards into our embedded PCs," Cliff Chun, MSI's product manager, told Tom's Guide. Chun, MSI's product manager, told Tom's Guide, "Our Trident series is a small form factor. Our Trident series consists of small form factor gaming desktops, so the larger size of the RTX 30 series cards required a slight modification to the chassis to accommodate them.

Chun also cited increased heat dissipation and power consumption as challenges related to installing RTX 30 series cards in four different lines of desktops. However, this process apparently worked, as some of the machines with the 30 series are available now and others are up for pre-order. 9]

It would take too long to describe all the MSI desktop products, but go to the MSI website, [Products ], [Desktop], and click on the product line of your choice to see for yourself.

The least expensive model I found was the MSI Codex R gaming desktop for $1,399 at Best Buy, with a GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, Intel i5-10400F CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, mouse and keyboard included. Whether the machine itself is worth the price is hard to say, as we have not tested it. But it seems reasonable, at least considering the parts you get.

Unfortunately, this PC is currently sold out, but it would be worth checking to see if it comes back in stock.

On MSI's website, it was actually somewhat difficult to find the more expensive model, as the "3090" option in the desktop search actually links to older and less capable cards; Best Buy's Aegis R at $3,999, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, Intel Core i9-10900K CPU, 32GB ram, 2TB SSD, and still a mouse and keyboard. This model is currently out of stock, though.

In any case, if you are desperately looking for an Nvidia RTX 30 series card and don't mind buying a pre-integrated machine, MSI's offer seems better than anywhere else. Building a similar system yourself would be cheaper, of course, but you'd also have to wait for their inventory to stabilize.
