World of Warcraft Classic has been released, and players are eagerly anticipating what's next for the massively multiplayer online game; WoW Classic is a candidate for the next major release. The game's first expansion pack, a reboot of 2007's The Burning Crusade.

With this year's BlizzCon set to take place next month as a virtual event, the time is approaching to see if Blizzard will finally announce new content for WoW Classic. If they do, players will be able to experience the next expansion much sooner than subscribers did when there were three years between releases.

No official word on when or if "World of Warcraft" will launch: There is no official word on whether or not "Classic: The Burning Crusade" will be available in digital format. However, if major "World of Warcraft" content is to be re-released, then other early expansions will be re-released as well. Given that the game has progressed to the vanilla final raid "Naxxramas" in the latest update, it is only natural to expect that players will be able to continue the story in the same way they originally did.

Some WoW fans want to be able to navigate only the default WoW Classic content, while others are eager to try "The Burning Crusade" for the first time or relive their journey in the expansion Blizzard has previously asked players if they want to play the new content, or if they want to keep the game as it is for the time being. Expanded content could exist only in a dedicated "Burning Crusade" service, or it could be offered in several different options to cater to various player preferences.

While there has been no official word from Blizzard regarding the expansion, a summer release is rumored to be a possibility; World of Warcraft streamer "StaySafe" has reported through "multiple sources" (via Wccftech) that The Burning Crusade could be released in some form by May 4, he noted. [Of course, Blizzard has neither confirmed nor denied this rumor, and as BlizzCon approaches, we will probably hear something about that date or wait a little longer.

No release date has been announced for WoW Classic: For The Burning Crusade as well, Blizzard has yet to mention an official beta. However, with BlizzCon taking place in February, we can assume that the game maker will offer either a closed or open beta after the expansion is announced. Either way, that is usually the case.

If Blizzard does open the beta, you generally need to sign up for a chance to participate. Another option is to log onto Twitch and watch as your favorite streamers drop off their beta keys. You can also follow influencers and official accounts for key giveaways. Being a former World of Warcraft beta tester might also give you access.

World of Warcraft Classic: The Burning Crusade is set within the overarching game world of Azeroth, but with additional locations to explore. The Dark Portal (the Great Portal) allows visitors to head to the Outlands, one of the two gateways between Azeroth and Draenor, the barren wastelands that were once home to the Draenei. It is located in the Blasted Lands in the southern part of the Eastern Kingdom.

Destruction is laid bare throughout the expansion as the Burning Legion drives Draenei out. It will be a dynamic and exciting area to explore, especially for those who have only experienced the main scenario and raids in the WoW Classic.

The Burning Crusade will feature a zone that can be explored in Outland, the land through the dark portal described earlier. For new players, the expansion will also include additional content zones based on the Blood Elves and Dranei, the new playable races in this expansion. They can also visit the capital city of Exodar (Draenei) and Silvermoon City (Blood Elves). While exploring places you have never been before, you will learn about the traditions of a new tribe.

The Burning Crusade introduced two new playable races. They are the Blood Elves of the Horde and the Draenei of the Alliance. In addition, the Paladin and Shaman classes were expanded. Previously, the shaman was only available to races such as orcs, trolls, and tauren. Similarly, the Paladin class was only available to Humans and Dwarves of the Alliance.

As of The Burning Crusade, players can try these professions on new races as they wish, as long as Blizzard maintains its previous practices. This means that whether playing an already established race or trying a new one, there will be a variety of classes to choose from.
