Nathan (Stephen Mangan) and lawyer Hannah (Nicola Walker) were together when “The Split” first started, but they are not together anymore, and Hannah and the mysterious Archie (Toby Stephens) are on the verge of deciding whether to get married or miss their opportunity, circling each other.
Beneath the surface, there is an “explosive secret” (or so it promises) that could destroy another marriage, and the usual emotional perils that weddings seem to excel at.
Each of the three main characters is of an age where they have reason to stop and think about where they are and what they want out of life, but the real hook for most viewers is probably Hannah's internal dialogue and her specific fear of long-term loneliness and commitment would be.
