Asus to Unveil “World's Lightest” Copilot+ PC at CES 2025 - Boasts 32 Hours of Battery Life

As CES 2025 approaches, brave new laptop concepts are beginning to be teased, including Lenovo's first “rollable laptop. Now, Asus plans to unveil the “world's lightest Copilot+ PC” at the tech event, which it claims will boast 32 hours of battery life.

Asus announced at the Always Incredible launch event at CES 2025 that it will unveil the new Asus Zenbook, which features an ultra-lightweight design and AI-powered performance. Details on the upcoming laptop are scarce, but we do know that it aims to be the lightest Copilot+ PC on the market, and that its “cutting-edge processor” will include the Snapdragon X series, Intel Lunar Lake, or AMD Ryzen AI chips.

Asus plans to fully introduce the laptop, including all Copilot+ PC specs and processors, at a launch event on January 7, 2025 at 9:00 AM PST.

The official teaser gives a glimpse of the new Zenbook “floating”:

Details of the new Copilot+ PC are being kept under wraps, but Asus did mention one detail: 21 hours of battery life, including on the MacBook Pro 16-inch Even the best laptops fall short of this.

To put this in perspective, Samsung's Galaxy Book 5 Pro, also an upcoming Copilot+ PC, claims a whopping 25 hours of battery life; it will be interesting to see how Asus pulls this off and which processors contribute to this power efficiency. It will be interesting to see how Asus pulls this off and which processors contribute to this power efficiency. [We have seen other Asus Zenbook laptops with Copilot, such as the Asus Zenbook S 14 with Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, get longer battery life thanks to the chipset. However, this was over 13 hours, while the Dell XPS 13 with Snapdragon X Elite was over 19 hours. This suggests that if the upcoming Zenbook claims a 32-hour battery, there is a good chance that it will have a Snapdragon chip.

Of course, we won't know the true figure until we try this lightweight Copilot+ PC in person. But even if it approaches 32 hours, Asus will still have a battery life champion on its hands.

“The ultra-lightweight design of the world's lightest Copilot+ PC redefines the mobility possibilities of AI devices, providing portable partners and collaborators for today's users,” Asus said.

“With Copilot+ AI, we're enabling intuitive and adaptive workflows, seamless collaboration, and smarter performance tailored to the user's needs.”

Asus' Zenbook S 13 OLED gave us a taste of an ultralight laptop that weighs 2.2 pounds, lighter than a MacBook Air (2.7 pounds). While this laptop lacked performance, Asus' upcoming “Lightest Copilot+ PC” may offer better performance. Until then, we'll have to wait and see as another CES 2025 laptop.
