'Happy Gilmore 2' Trailer Arrives - Bad Bunny and Travis Kells Join the Link

It's been almost 30 years since that popular sports comedy Happy Gilmore was released. Now, star Adam Sandler reprises his role as a very unorthodox golfer (who can't believe he got his hockey jersey and Timberland at the pro store) in the highly anticipated sequel, coming to Netflix in July 2025.

On Thursday, December 26, as a little holiday treat, Netflix released a teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2. And this time around, it adds familiar faces and megawatt cameos.

It's nice to see Gilmore's relationship with Virginia Venit (Julie Bowen), the golf tour PR director from the original film, still going strong after all these years. There is a returning animosity between Happy and O.G. Course nemesis Shooter McGavin (played by Christopher McDonald of “Hacks”). From the heated confrontation in the trailer, it appears that Shooter's hatred has not abated with the passage of time.

The astute viewer will notice that McGavin is standing by a headstone that reads “Peterson.” Unfortunately, Weathers passed away earlier this year and is not listed in the credits.
