Leaked information on the Nvidia RTX 50 series GPUs continues to emerge, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from Nvidia's next generation of graphics cards in time for CES 2025. It now appears that one of Nvidia's best features is about to receive a major update.
Found by HardwareLuxx (via VideoCardz), GPU manufacturer INNO3D leaked details of the rumored Nvidia DLSS 4 on its CES 2025 event page. As the page suggests, its GPUs will “highlight new AI-accelerating features that empower innovation with AI.”
The new AI-enhancing features hint at Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, which will provide “even better image quality and higher frame rates.” DLSS 3 on current Nvidia GPUs is known to upscale compatible PC games using AI to provide higher resolutions and “up to 4x” frame rate improvements, as stated by Nvidia. However, the leaked information details even more upgrades and features.
INNO3D has removed this posting, but the leak can still be seen via the Internet Archive. According to the post, here is what Nvidia DLSS 4 might offer:
Interestingly, the leak is labeled “Neural Rendering Capabilities.” We do not know how this will work in games, or whether this is exclusive to RTX 50 series graphics cards or will trickle down to RTX 40 series and RTX 30 series GPUs. At the very least, we do know that the way graphics are displayed in PC games will be upgraded in some way.
When DLSS 4 is announced, we can expect many improvements, including enhanced ray tracing, AI-accelerated graphics, improved AI upscaling, improved power efficiency, etc.
With CES 2025 fast approaching, we won't have to wait too long to learn about Nvidia's plans for its next-generation GPUs; if DLSS 4 is on the way, PC games will look even better and run smoother than before. Well, unless Nvidia fixes their new app, since Nvidia's app has been found to slow down PC games by up to 15%.
