Nvidia RTX 50 series GPUs have been leaked from various sources and are almost certain for the 2025 CES. Sneak peeks of the next generation Asus ROG gaming notebooks are currently being released, with all kinds of RTX 50 series notebook graphics cards and Intel Arrow Lake HX CPUs.
Published by Huang514613 of X and VideoCardz, Asus appears to offer a set of new ROG Strix, ROG Zephyrus, and ROG Flow gaming laptops with GPUs from RTX 5050 to RTX 5090. These laptops also appear to be powered by Intel's Arrow Lake HX and AMD Strix Halo processors.
As noted in the report, the list uses Nvidia's internal codenames, but these identifiers match the GPUs. For example, “GN22” relates to the Nvidia Blackwell GPU, while “X11” refers to the GPU type. In other words, “GN22-X11” is expected to be an RTX 5090 laptop GPU, “GN22-X9” an RTX 5080, “GN22-X7” an RTX 5070 Ti, etc.
According to leaks, Asus is expected to launch the ROG Strix with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, up to an RTX 5090 GPU, and a whopping 64GB of DDR5 RAM. That's a lot of power, and as retailers confirmed in this report, it will feature an 18-inch QXGA (2048 x 1536), 1200-nit brightness. Looks like the new ROG Strix G18. [with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor, graphics options ranging from RTX 5070 Ti to RTX 5090, and 64GB of DDR5 RAM. The laptop is said to have a 16” QXGA OLED display. This suggests a new ROG Zephyrus G16 model.
The leak also hints at the new Asus ROG Flow, the company's 2-in-1 gaming tablet that is said to feature an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 CPU and a 13.5-inch display.
Interestingly, specs for Nvidia's RTX 50 series laptop GPUs have also been revealed. If we are to believe this leak, alongside the RTX 5080 will be the RTX 5090 laptop GPU with 16GB GDDR7 VRAM; the RTX 5070 Ti will have 12GB GDDR7 VRAM, while the RTX 5070, 5060, and 5050 will have 8GB GDDR7 VRAM GDDR7 VRAM.
There is no information on the RTX 5060 Ti offering 16GB of VRAM, as previous leaks suggested it would be on a desktop GPU. However, seeing that these are laptop GPUs, it is difficult to expect more VRAM in lower GPU models.
Additionally, this list of leakers shows that the RTX 5090 laptop GPU boasts a TGP (total graphics power) of 175W, a significant increase since the RTX 4090 can be configured between 80W and 150W. This is not comparable to the proposed RTX 5090 desktop GPU, which is expected to be 450W.
As noted, new Asus ROG laptops are expected to be available by Spring 2025. If this is what the next generation of gaming laptops will offer, it is already looking impressive. Especially impressive when you look at the high- and mid-range RTX 5070 Ti Asus laptops with 12GB of VRAM. Will this be a big boost compared to the best gaming laptops today, and with CES 2025 fast approaching, we won't have to wait too long.
