Samsung is already betting big on AI, and from what we've seen of the One UI 7 beta, it doesn't look like that momentum will wane anytime soon. The question is, what kind of AI will be added to the One UI 7 and Galaxy S25? One rumor suggests that we could see Samsung copy one of the best AI features from Google's Pixel series.
According to Ice Universe on Weibo, Samsung is working on a version of Google's Audio Magic Eraser, which will appear in the “next version” of One UI 7. It is not entirely clear if that means the next beta version or the final version that would launch with the Galaxy S25 in January.
Ice Universe even posted a screenshot that appears to come from a Samsung phone, with a description that sounds exactly like a version of Audio Magic Eraser, The English description claims that it “removes distracting noises in videos” - lowering the volume of voices, wind, etc.
As shown in the image, a number of volume bars are also displayed. This could allow users to have more fine-grained control over the sound of the video, potentially limiting certain sounds and subtly changing others. Presumably, like Google's version, this feature would automatically adjust the sound based on what the AI thinks is best for the video in question.
It is not yet clear how Samsung's Audio Eraser will work or how it will differ from what is currently available on the Pixel 9 Pro. Its upgraded version, Audio Magic Eraser, can distinguish between different audio and choose which audio to listen to or mute. Given that Google and Samsung have partnered on AI in the past, including debuting Circle to Search on the Galaxy S24, it is possible that some collaboration will take place here.
Then again, that collaboration may not extend to something as specific as Audio Eraser. We will have to wait for this feature to appear.
The One UI 7 beta can be installed on Galaxy S24 devices if they are members of the One UI beta program. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is expected to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 23, and we will no doubt learn more about the final version of One UI 7 at the same time.
