Writer-director Aaron Simberg's “A Different Man,” an atmospheric thriller/dark comedy, takes us to New York City. There we meet Edward (Sebastian Stan), an actor who has developed neurofibromatosis. One day, however, his doctor offers him the chance to undergo a radical new treatment that will cure the tumor and transform his appearance and his life.
Edward accepts the offer and gets a new life with a conventional, attractive new face, but on the inside he is still insecure, his new life threatened by the arrival of the charismatic Oswald (Adam Pearson), and he becomes obsessed with what he has lost.

“Look Back and You'll See Him” is a faithful adaptation of the 2021 one-shot manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, author of “Chainsaw Man.” After its theatrical release last month, an animated adaptation directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama (rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes) is now available worldwide on Prime Video.
The story revolves around Fujino, a girl who impresses her classmates with her manga in the school newspaper. Eventually, her homeroom teacher asks her to work with Kyomoto on the manga. However, when the two begin working together, their jealousy turns to friendship, paving the way for an award-winning career.

With Halloween over, Netflix is poised to get into the holiday spirit with “Meet Me Next Christmas,” the first of four rom-coms coming to the streaming service this week.
“Meet Me Next Christmas” portrays Leila (Christina Milian), a young woman who is in the midst of a family crisis and is looking for a way out of it. Leyla has one goal for the season: to get the world in the spirit of the holidays. She has one goal this season: to get tickets to the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve concert, where she will be reunited with her old boyfriend. But while searching for the tickets, Leila is kept company by concierge Teddy (Deverell Ellis) and begins to wonder if sparks might fly with her new man.
While it may not have the outlandish charm of “Hot Frosty” (a widowed woman falls in love with one tough snowman), “Meet Me Next Christmas” is an early holiday watch for those ready to get their Christmas on! It's guaranteed to be.

Megan Park's “My Old Ass” puts a new spin on the teen coming-of-age story. In this fun comedy-drama, Elliot (Maisie Stella) comes face-to-face with his future, more cynical 39-year-old self (played by Aubrey Plaza) after ingesting mushrooms on his 18th birthday.
Wasting no time, the younger Elliott seeks life-changing advice from his older self, and what she tells him causes the teenager to rethink everything he ever thought about life and love. Gentle and funny, “My Old Ass” is one not to miss this week.
