'Yellowstone' Director Hints at Kevin Costner's Fate in Season 5 Part 2 - Here's What They Say

The premiere of “Yellowstone” Season 5 Part 2 is coming up this Sunday, and we are getting some final hints as to what to expect from the dramatic conclusion of the hit Paramount Network show.

One thing that has been mentioned repeatedly is Kevin Costner's disappearance from the show. The star of the show left during the break between Season 5 Part 1 and the upcoming Part 2, and people were wondering how show creator Taylor Sheridan would handle it.

Now, one of the show's most prolific directors is speaking out on the subject, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director Christina Volos revealed that yes, Costner will still be involved in “Yellowstone” and its final episode

“He's still in the process of making a film.

“His presence is essential. To say more would potentially ruin all the work we've done to re-edit the script, I think! (Laughter) But people ask, “Is he there or isn't he? Where is he and where isn't he?” people wonder because he is the patriarch and his presence is an integral part of the story. John Dutton is still the central figure.”

So you're not crazy if you keep seeing Kevin Costner in trailers and trailers for “Yellowstone. From the Season 5 Part 2 premiere to the finale five episodes later, he will undoubtedly be an integral part of the show. Even if he doesn't physically appear in every episode.

I now have a decent idea of what to expect in the final episode of “Yellowstone.” According to Kelly Reilly's recent comments, her character Beth just wants to be with her husband Rip (Cole Hauser) so much that she would give up everything to be with him in “the land no one wants.”

But we also know that Rip is not going to walk away quietly. Cole Hauser says that Rip will be intimately involved in some of the show's looming violence. Listen, Rip is going to do a lot of the killing. I'll tell you that.”

From the Season 5 Part 2 trailer, there will be a lot of killing going on. It looks like Rip will at least push a man off a cliff or ravine, and another man is running down a rolling hill, engulfed in flames.

So stay tuned for the premiere of “Yellowstone” Season 5 Part 2 on November 10 at 8 pm ET on the Paramount Network and 10 pm on CBS. For more information on how to watch that episode and other episodes of “Yellowstone,” see our guide on how to watch “Yellowstone” online for free without cable.
