Netflix has announced an exciting new “Moments” feature that allows users to bookmark, save, and share iconic scenes from their favorite movies and shows on the mobile app. The feature is rolling out globally today for iOS, with an Android version to follow in the coming weeks.
Designed to help members relive unforgettable scenes (or record new favorites), Moments will make it easier than ever to capture and share the standout scenes that keep viewers talking after the credits roll. Whether it's a mind-blowing thriller wow or a hot first kiss (see “Bridgerton” fans), Netflix says the feature will allow viewers to share their favorite stories in exciting new ways.
But how will it work? Here's what you need to know about moments and how to save your favorite moments on Netflix.
Saving scenes from your favorite movies and shows is actually quite easy. Simply tap on “Moments” at the bottom of the screen and the scene will automatically be saved to the “My Netflix” tab. So whether you're watching Colin and Penelope share a heartwarming kiss for the first time in “Bridgeman” Season 4 Episode 2 or rewatching that trippy body-swapping scene in “It's What's Inside,” you can save and share it with friends without any fuss You can.
When re-watching an episode or movie, playback will also begin from the bookmarked scene. In addition, “moments” can be shared as they are captured, or by selecting and tapping a saved scene in the “My Netflix” tab, it can be shared on social platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. I think I'll save Max's iconic running scene from “Stranger Things” Season 4.
This tool makes it easy to save memorable scenes and opens up new ways to bond over the best movies and shows on streaming services. It is also part of Netflix's global “It's So Good” brand campaign, which highlights the streaming service's most iconic scenes and those that fans most identify with.
iOS users can access Netflix Moments starting today if they have updated their app to the latest version; Android users will be able to share the same experience in the coming weeks.
