If you're looking at Netflix's top 10 shows list, you're probably thinking about what to watch next. Here at Tom's Guide, we still rate the streaming giant fairly high among the best streaming services, thanks to Netflix's vast and ever-changing content library.
But with so many choices, it's hard to pick the next must-watch show or movie; looking to Netflix's top 10 for inspiration doesn't always mean that popular content is right for you.
That's why we keep an eye on trends. Each week, we pick a show that we think Netflix subscribers should try at least once. Right now, our three picks are a new season of Netflix's hit legal drama, a 2018 crime drama that recently hit the rankings, and a western drama that will take you to the Australian outback.
We'd also like to give an honorable mention to a topical rom-com we branded “near perfect,” but given that it's been in the top 10 for over a month (as of the latest update), we thought it was time to replace it with something else.
Don't like any of them? be sure to check out our list of Netflix's best shows, as well as our roundup of new shows coming to Netflix in October 2024.

Netflix recently added Ben Stiller's 2018 true crime drama “Escape to the Podium,” which quickly climbed into the Netflix Top 10 shortly after. You don't think the excitement of the “Severance” Season 2 trailer had anything to do with it, do you?
The Emmy-nominated true-crime series is based on the recent true story of two convicted murderers, Richard Matt and David Sweat, who escaped from an upstate New York prison in 2015.
The series follows the trio before and after their escape, as the inmates escape with the help of prison officials, including Joyce “Tilly” Mitchell (Patricia Arquette).

The Australian family drama “Territory” is one of the latest shows to make the Netflix Top 10 list. This new soapy western series has been compared to Tyler Sheridan's “Yellowstone,” and it's easy to see why. If you like the latter, you should give “Territory” a try.
The series takes place on Marianne Station, the world's largest cattle ranch in the Northern Territory. The Lawson family has ruled the land for generations, but with the death of one family member, there is no clear successor ....... The opposing factions perceive this drama and see it as the perfect opportunity to get closer to the kill.

Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is back for a new case. Yes, “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 3 was released a few days ago, and fans sent the series straight to the Netflix Top 10; although it missed the #1 spot, “The Lincoln Lawyer” has remained at the top of the rankings since.
The series revolves around Haller, an “iconoclastic idealist” legal expert who opens a practice in the back seat of a Lincoln Continental and works on cases large and small throughout Los Angeles. The third season is based on The Gods of Guilt, the fifth novel in Michael Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer series, in which Haller defends a man accused of murdering a former client.
