The Apprentice, a Donald Trump film directed by Ali Abbasi, takes us back in time to 1970s New York and unfolds as an origin story showing how Trump, played by Sebastian Stan, became the man he is today.
It is brought to life by Trump's association with Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong), a “brutal” and ruthless lawyer who has taken in an ambitious and wealthy second son. Sensing his drive, Cohn begins to teach Trump the rules for success and how to “win” in life.
The film has been controversial since its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and shortly after its release in mid-October, Trump himself denounced the film as “a cheap, slanderous, and politically disgusting sleight-of-hand” (from Variety).
While not impressing the former president, The Apprentice has been well-received elsewhere, thanks in part to the outstanding performances of its lead actors (especially Strong). It would not be surprising to see at least one of them nominated when awards season comes around.

As of this writing, the only way to watch “The Apprentice” right now is to visit your local movie theater.
Like most major productions, “The Apprentice” will move to a premium video-on-demand (PVOD) service after its theatrical release and then become available on one of the best streaming services. And courtesy of Prime Video, we now know when “The Apprentice” will be available this way.
According to Prime Video's “The Apprentice” landing page (which is now available for pre-order), “The Apprentice” will be available to watch at home on Friday, November 1, 2024.
Beyond the PVOD release, however, it is difficult to predict where “The Apprentice” will be streamed. Unlike the new Disney and Marvel releases, which will almost certainly be available on Disney Plus, which can be easily guessed, we do not yet know which streaming services (many) “The Apprentice” will be available on. Nevertheless, we will update this article as more information becomes available.
