An update to Samsung's Android operating system skin, One UI 7, has been cooking for some time and has faced many delays. Leaks indicate that One UI 7 will be one of the biggest updates in a while.
A new video of the One UI 7 skin was released on X via contributor TechKhaled (via Sammobile). We looked around Ice Universe's various social media accounts, from X (formerly Twitter) to YouTube and Weibo, but could not find any posts featuring this video. It is not impossible that they may have shared this video with TechKhaled, but we are not certain at this time.
Ice Universe has been quiet lately, but they have generally shown good things about One UI 7. They showed off early images of the Android update, and based on other leaks, it could be a significant overhaul.
Despite this, TechKhaled's video shows off an Android-based system with flowing animations and “non-linear” and “parallel” motion.
Non-linear refers to animations that alternate when apps and widgets open and close. This is indicated by the app window falling into the associated icon. Parallel means that a new animation starts before the previous one ends.
Nevertheless, we may not get One UI 7 for several months; the public beta of One UI 7 is supposed to be available by the end of 2024, but no firm date on its rollout has yet been confirmed.
This means that what we see in the video leaks will likely change between now and its beta and eventual finished release.
In early October, Samsung confirmed during the Samsung Developers Conference that One UI 7 will be available when the Galaxy S25 series launches in mid-January 2025.
