It looks like one of the best streaming services, Hulu, is bringing a whole new lineup of entertainment to its November schedule. Now that we've left the spooky season behind (no more nightmares from watching horror movies), it's time to embrace the influx of new Christmas movies and shows. It's never too early to get into the holiday spirit, and Hulu is already making the season very festive.
Whether you're looking to binge watch a lighthearted comedy show or stream a dark thriller perfect for a cold night, Hulu's November lineup will keep your watch list full and your nights entertained.
Then grab a blanket and some popcorn - here's a roundup of new movies and shows coming to (and leaving) Hulu in November 2024.
“La La Land” is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, and its heartfelt story and charm are guaranteed to warm your heart. This romantic musical drama follows aspiring actress Mia (Emma Stone) and dedicated jazz musician Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) as they pursue their dreams in Los Angeles.
They both struggle to succeed in their respective fields and face challenges and setbacks along the way; they fall in love and support each other's dreams, but as their careers begin to take off, they are faced with the difficult reality of balancing their personal and professional lives. Available on Hulu from November 1.
The FX show Say Nothing is a gripping adaptation of Patrick Radden Keefe's investigative book about “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland and the violent political turmoil surrounding it. The story centers on the 1972 disappearance of Jean McConville, a 10-year-old widow whose abduction by the IRA set off a chain of events that would plague the region. Through her story, Say Nothing unearths the tangled lives of activists, fighters, and ordinary people caught up in a decades-long insurgency.
Against a backdrop of historical complexity, the show highlights Northern Ireland's struggle with memory, justice, and the enduring effects of divided loyalties, and offers a deeply layered exploration of identity and resistance. When a con artist deceives her by posing as her grandson, Thelma takes matters into her own hands and embarks on an action-packed adventure across Los Angeles to get her money back. Joining her on this unconventional adventure is her aging friend Ben (Richard Roundtree), a man who has been in the business for years and is now a member of the “Thelma's” family.
Directed by Josh Margolin and inspired by his own grandmother's experiences, “Thelma” features an elderly character in an action comedy. Squibb's character brings grit and determination to the mission, which is unconventional for the action genre but pays homage to living life at any age.
Streaming on Hulu beginning November 15
“Missing” follows a tech-savvy teenager on a frantic online search to find her mother Grace (Nia Long), who mysteriously disappeared while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, The mystery thriller centers on the story of June (Storm Reid).
As her mother continues to disappear day after day, June takes matters into her own hands, using a variety of digital tools and online sleuths to follow her mother's digital trail and find out what happened. Her search is complicated by secrets and shocking discoveries about her mother and the people around her that reveal more than she expected. The film is shot in a screen-life format, with the entire story unfolding through June's computer, smartphone, and other devices.

What am I if I don't list a classic Christmas movie at the top of my list? Elf is a holiday comedy starring Buddy (Will Ferrell), a human who was accidentally sent to the North Pole as a baby and raised by Santa's elves. As an adult, Buddy, who is considerably larger than the elves of his generation and struggles to fit in with his surroundings, discovers that he is, in fact, human. This realization prompts him to travel to New York to find his biological father.
Buddy's childlike innocence and naivete lead to a series of hilarious and heartwarming moments as he navigates life in the big city, experiences human customs, and tries to connect with his cynical, workaholic father. Clumsily, Buddy brings Christmas cheer to everyone he meets, spreads the magic of Christmas, and ultimately helps his family (and the city) rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
