Samsung will launch its Galaxy S25 series smartphones in a few months. Indeed, the company has yet to officially announce anything, but if it follows the same launch trend as in previous years, we can confidently say it will happen. And while not much is known about the upcoming phones, we have heard that Samsung will likely use the Snapdragon 8 Elite in all of its phones.
According to a new leak from Ice Universe (which has a solid track record), Samsung will use the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite in all of its S25 models, since the Snapdragon 8 Elite seems to be a very powerful SoC, This should not come as a surprise.
There has been no shortage of rumors that Samsung will use a mix of Exynos 2500 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chips in its phones, but if this new leak is accurate, it appears that these chips are not being used in the latest smartphones. Samsung will create a consistent ecosystem for all S25 owners by locking in one chip across all models (and possibly all regions), allowing the devices to have more uniform performance overall.
Of course, there is always the possibility that leaks are inaccurate. However, the fact that prominent leaker Jukanlosreve supports Ice Universe's claims gives the rumor some credibility.
One of the more exciting aspects of the Snapdragon 8 Elite is that it will support updates for up to eight years. If Samsung can support the Galaxy S25 series with that many software versions, it will be able to pull away from rivals Apple and Google.
Samsung typically launches new smartphones in January, with an Unpacked event on January 17, 2024.
