Exactly one week after Halloween, horror continues to hold the top spot in the Top 10 Most Watched on Prime Video. [Earlier in the week, a new R-rated action comedy took the #1 spot, and now a new spy thriller starring Kate Beckinsale has jumped to #1. [Of course, the most popular movies on Prime Video are not always the best. For proof that the latest No. 1 movie isn't always hailed as a must-see, look no further than the reviews for “Brothers.”
With that in mind, here are three movies to watch from Prime Video's Top 10 (as of Friday, October 25, 2024, 5:30 AM ET).
If you like brutal action movies, “The Monkey Man” (Dev Patel's directorial debut) deserves to be on your Prime Video watch list. The film is a pulse-pounding action thriller that succeeds thanks to the grit and determination of its protagonist.
“Monkey Man” follows a man named Kid, played by Patel, who makes a meager living as a member of an underground martial arts ring known for fighting in a monkey mask. But when he finds a way to infiltrate the upper echelons of corrupt society, the Kid embarks on a journey of revenge. To take revenge on those who murdered his own mother and continue to control the helpless masses.

Now, if you're not looking for intense thrills and chills, “IF” is your best choice right now. The star-turned-director of “The Office,” John Krasinski follows up his two “A Quiet Place” horror films with “IF.”
“IF” revolves around Bo (Kaley Fleming), a young boy who moves into his grandmother's New York apartment while his father awaits major heart surgery at a nearby hospital. While settling in, she encounters her quirky new neighbor, Cal (Ryan Reynolds), and discovers that she has the power to see other “IFs” (Imaginary Friends) left behind after their former friends grow up, and she begins working with him to place these friends with the new child.

Look, as someone who generally passes on blood and gore at the box office, “Terrifier” is far from my favorite franchise. All I can say is that it's impossible to ignore Damian Leone's indie, ultra-violent horror series.
“Terrifier 3” is currently taking the box office by storm, while its predecessor, “Terrifier 2,” has been topping the Prime Video rankings for the past few weeks. In the sequel, demonic killer Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is resurrected by an evil entity to once again wreak havoc on the town of Miles County on Halloween night. In this second installment, he crosses paths with his nemesis and last girl Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and her brother.
