Recent leaks may have revealed a release date for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition.
We have heard a lot about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE over the past few months, and rumors have claimed that it will have a thinner body than the mainline phone and a larger screen. Still missing, however, was a release date.
This changed with a recent Korean report that said the phone could come out on October 24, but a recent leak from known tipster Ice Universe indicates it could be even sooner. According to Ice, the initial report was off by several days, and it appears that the special edition will be released on October 21 instead.
The tweet includes a video inviting viewers to an event on October 21, but it should be noted that this is not a Galaxy Unpacked event. Unfortunately, we have not heard about any plans to release this phone outside of Korea and China, so it would be odd to announce it this way, as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition seems to solve some of the problems with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, so let's I hope it does.
One of the biggest complaints users have had with the Galaxy Z Fold series is that the inner display is creased. Samsung has often stated that it has solved this appearance with each new foldable, but not as successfully as with devices like the OnePlus Open. However, a recent post from Ice Universe says that Samsung has done a better job than ever regarding the fold. If true, the Z fold 6 Slim will provide the best possible viewing experience. [This improved experience will be helped by the screen's rumored size, which promises to be the largest fold ever, with an 8-inch foldable display along with a 6.5-inch cover display. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 had a 7.6-inch internal screen and a 6.3-inch external display. While this may not be a major change between models, it will be noticeable. Leaked images also show rounded corners and the same three-camera layout as the current Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Overall, the new slim model seems to have some interesting changes and we expect Samsung to open to new markets soon, as it could be one of the best folding phones on the market at launch.
