Five movies like “Lonely Planet,” but better.

Five movies like “Lonely Planet,” but better.

While Netflix is enjoying a romantic smash hit with “Nobody Wants This,” its latest romantic film, “Lonely Planet,” has not been so well received.

While the former has already been renewed for a second season, Susanna Grant's “Lonely Planet” has been pretty badly received by critics and has already fallen to #6 on Netflix's top 10 movies list, despite only being released on October 11

If you're a fan of the film, you're going to love it.

If you streamed “Lonely Planet” on Netflix and are still in the mood for some romance, here are five movies that will satisfy your streaming cravings a bit more.

It may seem a little out of left field to recommend first, but with a far-fetched but compelling central story and likable leads (especially Scarlett Johansson), “Fly Me to the Moon” is the most recently released rom-com you worth your time, in my opinion.

Directed by Greg Berlanti, the film follows Kelly Jones (Johansson), a marketing specialist, and Cole Davis (Channing Tatum), NASA's launch director, as they try to prepare the public in case the real Apollo 11 mission fails They reluctantly work together to film a fake landing scene to appease the public in case the real Apollo 11 mission fails.

Sofia Coppola's melancholic 2003 romantic drama has been a favorite of many since its release.

In “Lost in Translation,” funnyman Bill Murray plays Bob Harris, a disgruntled, fading megastar who flies to Tokyo to shoot a big whiskey commercial. There he meets Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson), a young college graduate who is also feeling lost in life. After several encounters, the two develop a friendship and bond as they spend time together in the city.

Adapted from D. H. Lawrence's famous romantic novel of the same name, Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre's “Mrs. Chatterley's Lover” follows newlywed Mrs. Chatterley, Connie Reed (Emma Colin) and gambler Oliver Mellows ( Jack O'Connell) in this historical drama about their scandalous relationship.

The two may not belong to the same social circle, but they share a truly intimate and passionate connection that bridges the divide with ease. If you like romantic period dramas, this one from Netflix is for you.

Okay, so “Set It Up” is more of a romantic comedy than a drama, but allow me to indulge myself for a moment. Set It Up remains one of Netflix's best original films, and I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to recommend it to anyone who might not have checked it out before.

Claire Scanlon's hilarious romantic comedy follows Harper (Zoe Deutch) and Charlie (Glen Powell), lowly clerks of low status, who make a cunning plan to get themselves a well-deserved vacation.

As the two continue their plan, sparks begin to fly between the protagonists. Set It Up may not be groundbreaking, but it's fun, funny, and boasts two leads with killer chemistry. What more could you want?

Earlier this year, Prime Video delivered a star-studded romantic comedy-drama: I streamed Michael Showalter's “The Idea of You,” but I personally found Solene's Love Story is more like it.

In “The Idea of You,” based on the novel of the same name by Robynne Lee, Solène Marchand (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mother and owner of an LA art gallery, takes her daughter to Coachella to meet August Moon, a boy band she admires. She goes.

There, Solène inadvertently crosses paths with August Moon's 24-year-old frontman, Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine).
