The iPhone 16 release date is less than a month away
On X, Apple's regular leaker, Apple Hub, shared a number of technical specifications for the entire iPhone 16 lineup, including the starting price of each model
Surprisingly, Apple seems to be keeping the price of the iPhone 16 the same as the iPhone 15 series And in the summer when Apple's smartphone rivals have raised their prices, we can feel our wallets getting a little easier The news of this pricing decision alone could propel the iPhone 16 to the top of the Best iPhones list
The only change we can confirm from the Apple Hub leak concerns the iPhone 16 Pro Pricing is said to start at $1,099, $100 more than the iPhone 15 Pro However, it appears that Apple is planning some changes to this new phone In addition to a larger screen and a new telephoto lens, the iPhone 16 Pro will likely start with 256GB of storage This is the same move Apple made last year when it raised the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max
The leak seems to confirm much of the information we have already covered, including the introduction of the largest versions ever of the Pro and Pro Max with 63“ and 69” screens, respectively
Apple Intelligence's support for all devices is not that big a surprise Apple has already stated that iPhones running on A17 or later are required, and all new models will have the A18 system-on-chip; for Pro models, Apple is apparently preparing a pro variant of the A18
The rumored specs detail some potential disappointments If you were still expecting an iPhone 16 Ultra, the Apple Hub leak makes no mention of the mythical device Perhaps next year we will see an Ultra version of the iPhone along with the highly rumored iPhone 17 Slim
Battery life could also be an issue, as the iPhone 16 Pro will have a smaller battery capacity than the Plus and Pro Max versions Also, even with the larger screen, space on the compact iPhone 16 Pro is limited
The entire iPhone 16 lineup was rumored to feature Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, but if this spec sheet is accurate, only the Pro model will offer that feature The Pro's cameras, both Pro and Pro Max, have a 48MP ultra-wide angle and 5x optical zoom and should be slightly better
We will know more for sure when Apple unveils its flagship model lineup at its September event We will bring you updates in Tom's Guide as they become available
