Google Photos can now control who is displayed in “Memories”

If there is a particular person or group of people you don't want to remember, having their photos reappear in the “memories” feature of Google Photos is like saying, “Hey, remember what you don't want to remember” But Google is trying to give you a little more control over that process

The idea behind the Memories feature is to help you reconnect with your past Instead of photos buried deep in your photo library, it's about bringing these images back to life and helping you remember the good old days when rent was cheap and no one knew what an influencer was

But not all memories are good ones, and some, like the fear of certain emotional jumps, you suddenly don't want to remember Google made it possible to block people and things from the memories feature in 2021 to prevent this from happening But it's all or nothing, and since humans are fickle, it's not always the right thing to do So this latest change is something of an in-between: it makes the person's face less visible without completely banning his or her future appearances

This new feature will simply be labeled “show less often,” meaning that a particular person will not appear as often as they otherwise would The important point here is that it does not uniformly block that person

Whether it is a friend or relative who has passed away, or an ex-lover with whom you had a good time, even if it didn't work out, they are not banished from your memories forever

The best part is that the whole process is very easy to set up Here's how to do it

This “show less” feature is now available in the latest version of Google Photos If you do not see it, make sure you have updated from the app store If it still doesn't work, you may have to wait patiently until Show Less is rolled out to your phone
