Update: 11:30am ET - X user Lore claims to be the source of the image posted by Majin Bu and that the invitation is a fake While we acknowledged this possibility at the time, it is unfortunate that such deception was apparently so easy for Lore
The original article follows
We may have just seen an invitation focused on the iPhone 16 to an Apple event in the second week of September, even though there is a reasonable chance that it is a fake
The alleged invitation was shared on X by Majin Boo However, as they express in a follow-up post, they are not exactly confident in the anonymous source - and thus the authenticity of this image As such, we take this with a grain of salt
The invitation is for the lucky recipient to visit Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, and attend an event on September 10 The Apple logo is painted in bronze, perhaps suggesting the Desert Titanium color, which is said to be the hero color of this year's iPhone 16 Pro
There is also the tagline “Ready set capture,” which seems to be a reference to the new Capture button rumored for the iPhone 16, which will allow for easier photo taking
If Apple is indeed holding an event in September, invitations should go out soon Apple usually gives a couple of weeks' notice, but it is not unreasonable to assume that the design and details inside this invitation are already locked and loaded to be sent out
But the details that make this invitation so compelling-the release date, the colors, the capture button-are all commonly known rumors anyone following the iPhone 16 leaks could have made this up themselves with a little design know-how I'm sure they could have Since the Apple event is almost certain to take place every September, expect to receive an official invitation from Apple soon to see if this leak is real or not
Apple's next product showcase could be a busy presentation Not only will we see the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max that this alleged invitation suggests, but also the Apple Watch 10, and maybe even the AirPods 4 and possibly the AirPods Max 2
