Top 10 Prime Video Movies - Here are 3 worth watching now

Whenever I try to watch something new on Prime Video, the first thing I check is the streaming service's “Top 10 Most Watched Movies” list However, just because a movie ranks high on this constantly changing list does not guarantee its quality

I check Prime Video's Top 10 almost daily, and I can't count the number of times I've seen a movie with a lower Rotten Tomatoes score ranked higher For example, currently ranked #1 on Prime Video is “Jackpot,” with a pathetic score of 30%

To avoid the stinkers and instead stream the gems, we list below the best movies in the Prime Video Top 10 Note that this list is based on the Amazon Prime Video Top 10 as of Sunday, August 25 at 11:00 AM ET

“Passenger” is one of those films where critics and viewers disagree Its score on Rotten Tomatoes by professional critics is very poor at 30%, but its audience score is much healthier at 63%, and I definitely fall into the latter camp Passengers is a film that gives me a little peace of mind, and watching it has become an annual holiday tradition in our household While not a holiday movie per se, it was released in December 2016 and has an oddly cozy feel for a sci-fi romance set on a spaceship

The movie takes place on an interstellar sleeper ship that transports 5,000 colonists to humanity's new home However, one of its passengers, Jim (Chris Pratt), awakens from hypersleep early after an asteroid impact The ship is still light years away from its final destination, and Jim faces the nightmarish prospect of spending the rest of his life alone Unable to bear the loneliness, Jim decides to awaken another passenger, Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence), and the two quickly bond and begin a romance, but the truth of Jim's decision threatens to be revealed, and if the drama is not already enough, a system malfunction soon puts the entire ship in in jeopardy

“Drive-Away Dolls” is directed by only one of the Coen brothers, but as one would expect from their repertoire of hits like “Raising Arizona” and “Fargo” The film features a lot of the quirky humor and memorable characters that we have come to expect from their hits “Raising Arizona” and “Fargo” Critics and audiences, though, have not been as impressed with the brothers' joint project

Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan play a pair of best friends who set off on a road trip to Tallahassee, Florida Along the way, Jamie (Quarry) is a free-spirited, recently broken-up woman who tries to get Marian (Viswanathan) to loosen up by making a stop at a lesbian bar and encouraging her to be cautious and have an affair or two But their drive turns into a mad dash when they notice a briefcase in the rented car

My colleague Laurie called “Interstellar” the best science fiction film of the past 20 years, and I would agree In Christopher Nolan's sci-fi masterpiece, Interstellar, Matthew McConaughey plays Coop, a former NASA pilot His daughter believes that “ghosts” communicating through strange gravitational anomalies haunt their home, leading Coop to the great possibility that humanity may have a second chance

But to seize it, he must leave his family behind on a mission to discover humanity's new home He takes a team of scientists, including Amelia Brand (Anne Hathaway), Romilly (David Gyasi), and Doyle (Wes Bentley), to pilot the Endurance spacecraft through a wormhole to check out three potential habitable planets But has any space adventure ever gone according to plan? As the mission progresses, they face a variety of challenges
