NFL fans love NFL Sunday Ticket This football-only streaming service allows you to watch every off-market game of the regular season and is a complete game changer once you use it So it's no surprise that this latest Sunday Ticket news has football fans outraged
First reported by Puck's John Ourand, the NFL Sunday Ticket starts at a whopping $67999 when you sign up through the YouTube app on your Apple device (ht/t NBCSports) Add NFL RedZone to the mix, and the price is an astronomical $73999 At least on my iPad, I can confirm that this price is accurate
This is a big deal: NFL Sunday Ticket normally starts at $479 for the 2024-25 NFL season, but if you have YouTube TV, you get $100 off if you sign up through YouTube TV That means you'll spend an extra $300 if you sign up through Apple's YouTube app
But there is good news: you don't have to buy a Sunday Ticket from Apple; you can sign up through YouTube's Primetime Channels or YouTube TV with a web browser That way, you'll only pay the regular price, and if YouTube is running a promotion, you might get $50 off
There is no reason to sign up through Apple, as Sunday Ticket subscriptions are available without restrictions
The reason Sunday Ticket is so expensive on Apple devices is because Apple takes 30% of the sales in the App Store Therefore, Google and its parent company Alphabet-owned YouTube simply raised their prices on devices like the iPhone and iPad to compensate
In fact, YouTube doesn't even let you sign up via YouTube TV on these devices; to manage your YouTube TV subscription outside of the App Store ecosystem, you have to follow a link to your web browser
But there is even better news: not only do you not have to sign up for Sunday Ticket through Apple, but you can pay the regular price and finally get a free trial of NFL Sunday Ticket
