“Alien: Romulus” is by far the best movie I've seen this year In fact, it is in my top 5 of all time I was really excited to experience this movie in theaters But ever since that thrilling opening weekend, I've been feeling a bit empty, like something is missing: Perhaps it was the excitement of anticipation for this masterpiece If you're feeling that same emptiness, you might want to dive into a film that evokes a similar vibe

The story of “Alien: Romulus” is about a group of young space colonists who enter an abandoned space station in search of highly regulated equipment and find themselves in mortal combat with the dreaded Xenomorphs The film is a stunning return to the franchise's horror roots, focusing on claustrophobic tension and intense survival horror With these elements in mind, we have selected a few films that might fill the void

Again, another obvious choice would be to include an incredibly gory and tense film by Fede Alvarez, who was also responsible for “Aliens: Romulus” The 2013 remake of ” Evil Dead” stays true to the intense and gruesome nature of the original while introducing new elements to the story

The film follows a group of five friends who retreat to a secluded cabin in the woods in hopes of helping Mia (Jane Levy) break free from her drug addiction Along with her brother David (Shiloh Fernandez) and three others, they intend to support Mia's detoxification in isolation However, their plans take a dark turn when they discover the Necronomicon, an ancient book of the dead, in the basement Despite the warnings in the book, one of their companions reads the spell aloud and inadvertently unleashes a malevolent force As the demonic presence takes over, the group suffers horrific and bloody events, and Mia becomes the main target of the evil entity
