If you've ever used the best video chat apps while doing other things, you may know the pain of having to tactically choose which window to open Even with multiple screens and windows, you may have to choose between video feeds and important work Thankfully, Google Meet will soon fix that
If you've ever used Google Meet on Android, you know that there is a Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode And now Google is bringing this feature to Google Chrome and offering the same PiP functionality on the desktop
According to Google's announcement blog post, the good news is that the Picture-in-Picture feature will be automatically activated when you switch tabs In other words, you don't have to go to the trouble of opening Google Meet's PiP mode yourself
Android Police notes that the option to manually open Google Meet in PiP mode was already available, but this new change makes it completely seamless However, this feature is exclusive to Google Chrome, so if you open a window in other software, that pop-up meeting window will disappear
This feature will be rolled out to all Google accounts, and those with Google Workspace accounts need not worry about administrators enabling or restricting this option feature and do not need to worry about enabling or restricting it; simply turn off the automatic picture-in-picture toggle in Chrome's site settings
This feature has already been deployed, and the next time you use Google Meet on your desktop, Picture-in-Picture may already be on If not, you can continue to use the existing method, even if it is less convenient
