The iPhone 16 launch event will not take place for another week and a half, but it appears that the iPhone 16 has made an appearance in the real world Thanks to leaker Majin Bu, who posted a video on X of what appears to be the iPhone 16 in the rain
The video shows a black iPhone with two vertically aligned cameras and a matte black finish There also appears to be an Action button above the volume button and a large button on the other side of the phone below the power button - this is probably the rumored Capture button
However, we only see the phone from behind, with only glimpses of the sides There is no frontal view, and the person in the video seems to have intentionally obscured the front screen It is unclear why they would do such a thing, and we are curious about the authenticity of this device
Since the front is not visible, it is impossible to be completely sure if this device is the real iPhone 16 or some sort of dummy unit With so many dummy units already leaked, I wouldn't be surprised if the final mockup has details like a realistic camera lens Additionally, if you had the actual iPhone 16 less than two weeks before it was officially unveiled, you'd probably offer little more than a 15-second glimpse at the back of the phone
A leak of this magnitude would be a major problem given that Apple is known for trying to keep a tight lid on things Unreleased iPhones have only been released to the public a few times in the past, but the aftermath has rarely been felt by those involved It's not something to be very public about, and keeping it to yourself about the unit in question won't help much
Or perhaps we will see more details of this device in the future and the person behind the camera just wanted to avoid giving too much away
We may never know the truth; we won't get to see what the iPhone 16 looks like before the Glowtime event on September 9 Visit Apple's event page for updates on the day and the iPhone 16 hub page for the latest news and rumors for the latest news and rumors
