Samsung's Galaxy Book 4 lineup was just released in February, but leaks of the next-generation Galaxy Book 5, which is believed to be powered by Intel's Lunar Lake CPU, are already out and may be available soon
The leak comes from Notebook Check, which spotted the Galaxy Book 5 Pro on the SiSoft benchmark site and was sent the image by a source claiming it to be the flexible Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360
According to the images received by Notebook Check, there does not appear to be much difference between the new Book 5 and its predecessor, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360
The left side of the laptop appears to retain two USB-C ports and an HDMI 21 port, a frustrating point as the Book 4 came with a very short charging cable We hope Book 5 will come with a longer, easier-to-use cable The keyboard and display are very similar
Despite the cable complaints, we described the Book 4 Pro 360 as “a true competitor to the 15-inch MacBook Air” in our hands-on review
For the most part, other than Lunar Lake, this appears to be an incremental hardware update However, Lunar Lake is powerful enough to be used in Microsoft's Copilot+ PC program It is not clear from the image, but if so, the Book 5 may have a Copilot button on the keyboard
It will be interesting to test how Copilot and AI will affect the fairly good battery life and performance of the Book 4, which struggled with high-end gaming
Spec-wise, the 5 Pro and 360 are relatively identical Both should have an Intel Lunar Lake CPU, at least 16GB of LPDDR5-8533 RAM (based on SiSoft benchmarks), and an Arc iGPU They should also have 120Hz AMOLED displays and 76Wh batteries
Samsung could announce its new Galaxy Book laptop on September 3, when Intel is expected to officially launch its Lunar Lake lineup
