Netflix Creates New Action-Thriller Show - 100% Rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Over the past few years, we have seen some truly disappointing “Terminator” movies The last few sequels to James Cameron's sci-fi thriller have not been as memorable as the original or its lavish sequels

But the latest spin-off, Netflix's “Terminator Zero,” seems to have turned that rule on its head, as the eight-part animated series (now streaming in its entirety) has earned an impressive 100% critics' rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes

Produced by Japanese animation studio Production IG, “Terminator Zero” is the latest anime offering from Netflix and could be rated as one of the best Netflix anime shows

“Terminator Zero” is a visceral, violent, well-drawn story that unfolds over eight episodes, with plenty of action, balanced by solid character work The situation of being chased by a terminator is still not pretty; it's just not the way it's supposed to be”

The series has yet to make Netflix's Top 10, but if you're an anime or sci-fi fan, don't miss it Still not convinced? Here's the plot and what critics have said so far

“Terminator Zero” sort of serves as another reboot of the hit sci-fi franchise developed by Mattson Tomlin

Most of the action takes place in 1997 Tokyo, where scientist Malcolm Lee is working to develop an artificial intelligence comparable to Skynet Shortly before Judgment Day (the day Skynet regains its selfhood and begins its war against humanity), Malcolm and his family become the target of a cybernetic assassin (voiced by Timothy Olyphant in the English dub) who has traveled back in time to kill him

Fortunately, he finds himself protected by Eiko (Sonoya Mizuno, star of “House of Dragons”), a resistance soldier who has traveled back in time to protect Malcolm and his children from their relentless pursuers and prevent the activation of his rival AI, Kokoro

To earn a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film would have to receive great acclaim from critics

As of this writing, a total of 15 “Terminator Zero” reviews have been recorded on the site, ranging from favorable to rave reviews Even critics who were less favorable to the film have found elements to praise, such as the dynamic visuals and on-screen action

Total Film reviewer David Opie gave the series a 4/5, commenting: “‘Terminator Zero’ is an exhilarating animated spin-off that looks to both the past and the future, paying homage to classic films while forging its own path spin-off film

Meanwhile, Discussing Film writer Ron Hilliard gave “Terminator Zero” a perfect five-star rating, claiming that it is “arguably the most exciting film in James Cameron's world since ‘Terminator’: Sarah Connor The most exciting film in James Cameron's world since 'Chronicles,'” and described it as ”one of the strongest original films to come out of Netflix this year”

Collider's Sean Van Horn had a lower rating for the show than other critics (6/10), but he was still willing to give “Terminator Zero” a shot

He said, “‘Terminator Zero’ is not a bad series It makes you think about the question of what is good and what is evil as the lines between the two become blurred It's beautiful to watch, and the story and characters are interesting If you are a fan of the film, you should definitely check it out because it is worth seeing Just don't expect to be transported back to the awe-inspiring moments of James Cameron's first two films”
