Is “Borderlands” a good movie? The answer to that question would be a resounding “no” for everyone But as a fan of the Gearbox video game series, I am morbidly curious to see this train wreck of a movie Of course In his “Borderlands” review, a colleague of mine described it as “a ridiculous throwback” to the God-awful video game movies of yesteryear
The premise is familiar to anyone who played the game: a ragtag team of mercenaries team up to fight alien monsters and bust heads on the war-torn backwater planet of Pandora And for some reason, the fate of the world is at stake Fans of the series will recognize familiar faces such as Lilith (Cate Blanchett), Claptrap (voiced by Jack Black), and Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt)
