The iOS 181 update will allow you to more easily change the primary email address associated with your Apple account
With the current version of iOS, it is very cumbersome to change the primary email for an Apple account To do this, you must first delete the primary email, add a new one, and then go through the authentication process again Alternatively, you can set up an alias email that replaces the name when sending documents, but the main email can still be seen from time to time
However, MacRumors reports that iOS 181 should make this process much easier, as it will allow users to add a new primary email address to their account without having to change the email address they used when creating the account This means that the original account would still be used to log in, but there would be no possibility of that email address showing up in shared documents, calendar invitations, etc This would save the user a great deal of time and avoid some embarrassing situations
In fact, many of us set up our Apple accounts some time ago and had pretty terrible email addresses So, if it were easy to set up, being able to quickly add a primary account without having to reconfigure it would be a huge time saver; we won't know for sure until October 28 (the rumored launch date of iOS 181), but a simple few taps and done! We hope it will be a simple matter of a few taps
iOS 181 should also provide users with Apple Intelligence features for the first time outside of a beta release While some features will not yet be available until iOS 182, it will offer Writing Tools to help improve any text on the phone, many photo editing features, notification summaries, and an improved Siri
A lot will be done for the iPhone in the coming months, and while this is not the biggest change on the horizon, changing your Apple account attachments to email more easily is a big improvement in quality of life for the best iPhone owners
